RULES FOR PARTICIPATING 2023

El Festival “Cachinus de Cine” está organizado por la Asociación Cultural De Cilleros (A.C.D.C.) y el Excmo. Ayuntamiento de Cilleros.

The Festival “Cachinus de Cine” is organised by the Cultural Centre Association of Cilleros (A.C.D.C) and the Town Hall of Cilleros.

Se celebra en Cilleros (Sierra de Gata) a principios del mes de mayo.

It will take place in Cilleros (Sierra de Gata, Cáceres) at the beginning of the month of May.

Edad necesaria para participar – Age for participants:

Se establecen diferentes categorías en función de la edad:

The different categories are established according to age:

• Categorías:
  • Hasta 12 años (C1)   Up to twelve years (C1)
  • De 13 a 17 años (C2)  From 13 to 17 yrs (C2)
  • De 18 a 30 años (C3)   From 18 to 30 yrs (C3)
  • Amateur: Categoría General para todas las edades. Si participas en esta no puedes hacerlo en ninguna de las otras categorías (Amateur: General Category for all ages. If you enter in this category, you may not enter in any other)
  • Animación (2 premios, uno para menores de 18 y otro para mayores) Animation (2 prizes, one for those under 18 and one for adults)

Importante: Important:

Para participar en las categorías C1, y C2 el corto ha de estar realizado mayoritariamente por personas de esas edades, pudiendo colaborar adultos en funciones de dirección o apoyo.

In order to take part in categories C1 and C2, the short must be performed by persons from this age group, permitting adults to cooperate in direction and support.

En la categoría C3 el director o directora ha de tener una edad comprendida entre los 18 y los 30 años.

In the Category C3, the Director must be in the age group 18-30 yrs.

How to register and how to send in your short videos

El plazo de recepción de cortometrajes se abre el 1 de octubre de 2022 y se cerrará a las 0:00 horas del día 8 de marzo de 2023.

The time limit for shorts opens the 1^st October, 2022 and will close at midnight on March 8^th, 2023

La aceptación de las bases se confirma de modo automático con el envío del vídeo.

Acceptance of the rules is automatically confirmed with the submission of the video.

¿Qué requisitos obligatorios deben tener los cortos que mandéis?

What are the mandatory requirements for the short films you send?

Deben tener una duración máxima de 12 minutos (excepcionalmente se aceptarán trabajos con una duración superior) Ser inéditos en este festival y originales.

They must have a maximum duration of 12 minutes (exceptionally, works with a longer duration will be accepted). They must be unpublished in this festival and original.

No se aceptarán vídeos con imágenes que sean violentas, denigrantes, vejatorias o insultantes, o que, por cualquier motivo no inherente a la narración, puedan ser de mal gusto. La organización del Certamen se reserva también el derecho a no incorporar al mismo aquellos cortometrajes que puedan atentar contra los derechos humanos.

Videos with images that are violent, denigrating, humiliating or insulting, or that, for any reason are not inherent to the narrative, may be in bad taste will not be accepted. The competition organisers also reserve the right not to include in the competition any short films that may infringe upon human rights.

Cada autor puede presentar tantos cortometrajes como quiera. Cada uno debe presentarse por separado.

Each author may submit as many short films as he/she wants. Each one must be submitted separately.

Aquellas historias que no hayan sido rodadas en castellano (todos los idiomas son aceptados) deben llevar obligatoriamente subtítulos en inglés, aunque se valorará que tenga subtítulos en Castellano dado que la selección de cortometrajes la llevan a cabo niños de 8 a 16 años

Those stories that have not been filmed in Spanish (all languages are accepted) must have English subtitles, although subtitles in Spanish will be considered, given that the selection of short films is carried out by children from 8 to 16 years old.

Es fundamental (para contactar con los ganadores posteriormente) que en el formulario de inscripción al certamen se rellenen todos los datos solicitados. No se admite DVD, lápiz (pendrive) USB o cualquier otro soporte físico; solo una url con el enlace a la plataforma donde se haya alojado el vídeo a concurso (Youtube, Vimeo, DailyMotion, Wetransfer, Onedrive, Dropbox,…) para su descarga y su contraseña en caso de tenerla.

It is essential (in order to contact the winners at a later date) that all the requested information is filled in on the competition entry form. DVDs, USB sticks or any other physical support will not be accepted; only a url with the link to the platform where the video has been hosted (Youtube, Vimeo, DailyMotion, Wetransfer, Onedrive, Dropbox,…) for downloading and its password if you have one.

La organización puede pedir al autor de este que demuestre que ha sido realizado y ubicado por él en la web si existe alguna sospecha de plagio o copia de otros cortometrajes.

The organisation may ask the author of the short film to prove that it has been made and placed on the website if there is any suspicion of plagiarism or copying of other short films.

El autor o autores son los únicos responsables de la película y de todo lo que en ella se incluya, la organización declina toda responsabilidad legal sobre su contenido.

The author(s) are solely responsible for the film and everything included in it, the organisation declines any legal responsibility for its content.

Los cortometrajes son propiedad exclusiva de sus autores y CACHINUS DE CINE solo incluye los trabajos en su web o en el canal de Vimeo /Youtube para promocionar cada obra, sin obtener ningún tipo de beneficio a cambio ni adquirir los derechos sobre el mismo.

The short films are the exclusive property of their authors and CACHINUS DE CINE only includes the works on its website or on the Vimeo /Youtube channel to promote each work, without obtaining any kind of benefit in exchange or acquiring the rights to it.

Jurado

Los jurados (Principal, animación, infantil y juvenil), se darán a conocer a través de la web del festival, elegirá entre los finalistas a los ganadores, pudiendo quedar desierto algún premio si así lo creen oportuno al no tener la calidad mínima exigida por el jurado, del mismo modo, se puede entregar algún premio a más de un finalista si el jurado no es capaz de determinar qué trabajo es el mejor.

Jury

The Juries (Main, animation, children’s and youth) will be announced on the festival’s website and will choose the winners from among the finalists. If they do not have the minimum quality required by the jury, a prize may not be awarded to more than one finalist if the jury is not able to determine which work is the best.

Premios y categorías

Todos los cortometrajes se expondrán en la web para que puedan ser conocidos y valorados por la comunidad de personas interesadas en los mismos (no se expondrán los trabajos que así lo soliciten por motivos de derechos de autor o cualquier otro que nos comunique el autor). Adicionalmente, los organizadores podrán publicitar (total o parcialmente) los cortos recibidos en cualquier medio de comunicación / red social que crean conveniente.

Awards and categories

All the short films will be exhibited on the website so that they can be known and valued by the community of people interested in them (works will not be exhibited if so requested for copyright reasons or any other reason communicated by the author). Additionally, the organisers will be able to publicise (totally or partially) the short films received in any media / social network they deem appropriate.

En ningún caso, dicha difusión se hará con fines comerciales.

Under no circumstances will such dissemination be for commercial purposes.

La organización del certamen se reserva el derecho a mantenerlos en su página web el tiempo que considere oportuno.

The competition organisers reserve the right to keep them on their website for as long as they deem appropriate.

Se establecen las siguientes categorías principales:

• Mejor corto hasta 12 años (C1) –> Elegido por el jurado infantil
• Mejor corto de 13 a 17 años (C2) –> elegido por el jurado juvenil
• Mejor corto de 18 a 30 años (C3) –> elegido por el jurado “principal”
• Mejor corto Amateur –> elegido por el jurado “principal”
• Mejor Documental
• Mejor Corto Extremeño
• Mejor corto de Animación (Premio especial “Natxo Menchero”)

The following main categories are established:

• Best short film up to 12 years old (C1) –> Chosen by the Children’s jury.
• Best short film from 13 to 17 years old (C2) –> Chosen by the Youth Jury
• Best short from 18 to 30 years old (C3) –> chosen by the “Main” jury
• Best Amateur Short Film –> Chosen by the “Main” Jury
• Best Documentary
• Best Extremaduran Short Film
• Best Animation Short Film (Special Award “Natxo Menchero”)

9 premios especiales (al que puede optar todos los cortos seleccionados, pudiendo otorgarse más de un premio si así lo estima el jurado de Festival):

• Mejor Guion
• Mejor Intérprete*
• Mejor Intérprete infantil* (menos de 12 años)
• Mejor Dirección
• Mejor Fotografía.
• Mejor corto musical o Banda Sonora Original (B.S.O.) (musical, videoclip, etc.)
• Valores Sociales
• Premio del Público
• Premio especial otorgado por A.C.D.C.

9 special prizes (to which all the selected short films are eligible, and more than one prize may be awarded if the Festival jury deems it appropriate):

• Best Screenplay
• Best Performer
• Best Child Performer* (under 12 years old)
• Best Direction
• Best Cinematography
• Best Short Musical or Original Soundtrack (B.S.O.) (musical, videoclip, etc.)
• Social Values
• Audience Award
• Special prize awarded by A.C.D.C.

Estos premios serán otorgados por el jurado “principal”, salvo el de “Mejor Intérprete Infantil” que lo dará el Jurado Infantil.

These prizes will be awarded by the “main” jury, except for the “Best Child Performer”, which will be awarded by the Children’s Jury.

* El premio a mejor intérprete aúna las categorías de mejor actor y mejor actriz pues entendemos que no deben existir diferencias de género en este premio.

Un mismo trabajo puede optar a más de un premio especial a la vez (exceptuando los cortos de la categoría Amateur). El jurado tendrá en cuenta, a la hora de otorgar los premios especiales la edad de los concursantes.

The same work may compete for more than one special prize at the same time (except for short films in the Amateur category). The Jury will take into account the age of the contestants when awarding the special prizes.

El Festival CACHINUS DE CINE publicitará el nombre y los trabajos ganadores a través de sus redes y de diferentes canales de la Asociación Cultural De Cilleros (A.C.D.C.) (Asociación coorganizadora del festival), para que las obras sean conocidas en diferentes ámbitos ligados al mundo literario y cinematográfico. Igualmente se otorga diploma oficial y estatuilla conmemorativa (sujeto a disponibilidad económica).

The CACHINUS DE CINE Festival will publicise the names and the winning entries through its networks and different channels of the Cultural Association of Cilleros (A.C.D.C.) (Association co-organising the festival), so that the entries are known in different areas linked to the literary and cinematographic world. An official diploma and a commemorative statuette will also be awarded (subject to financial availability).

A lo largo de este periodo se irán anunciando nuevas noticias relativas a la posible concesión de otros premios complementarios.

Further news on the possible awarding of additional prizes will be announced during this period.

Los participantes pueden optar a asistir en la gala de entrega de premios como parte activa del evento, ya sea a título individual o colectivo realizando una petición a través del correo electrónico (registros@cachinusdecine.es).

Participants may choose to attend the Awards Gala as an active part of the event, either individually or as a group, by making a request via email (registros@cachinusdecine.es).

En función del presupuesto del Festival, este podrá invitar a un máximo de 3 participantes por corto (un adulto como mínimo) a las actividades que se realizarán durante el certamen, así como a la Gala final. La invitación incluiría la estancia durante un máximo de 3 noches (Jueves, Viernes y Sábado), si el presupuesto lo permite, en caso contrario, la organización hará todo lo posible para conseguir los mejores precios para los alojamientos. Si algún participante desea venir con más de 3 personas, el Festival se compromete a ayudarle a buscar alojamiento en la zona.

Depending on the budget, the Festival will be able to invite a maximum of 3 participants per short film (at least one adult) to the activities that will take place during the festival, as well as to the final Gala. The invitation would include the stay for a maximum of 3 nights (Thursday, Friday and Saturday), if the budget allows it, otherwise, the organisation will do its best to get the best prices for accommodation. If any participant wishes to come with more than 3 people, the Festival is committed to help them to find accommodation in the area.

La organización recuerda que el espíritu del certamen, organizado por una entidad sin ánimo de lucro, es el de promover la creación audiovisual entre los jóvenes y aficionados a contar historias y ofrecer a todos los chicos y chicas un espacio en el que mostrar y compartir sus inquietudes audiovisuales y creativas de forma gratuita.

The organisation recalls that the spirit of the competition, organised by a non-profit organisation, is to promote audio-visual creation among young people and storytelling enthusiasts and to offer all boys and girls a space in which to show and share their audio-visual and creative concerns free of charge.

El jurado premiará la creatividad, originalidad y composición de los cortos, así como el guion desarrollado y los recursos técnicos. Si el jurado estima que no hay ningún candidato que merezca alguno de los premios estos pueden quedar desiertos.

The Jury will reward the creativity, originality and composition of the short films, as well as the script developed and the technical resources. If the jury considers that there is no candidate that deserves any of the prizes, they may be declared void.

Entrega de premios y gala final

Los trabajos recibidos serán visualizados en las semanas siguientes al fin del plazo de recepción de los vídeos por parte del comité de selección.

Award ceremony and final gala

The entries received will be viewed in the weeks following the end of the deadline for receipt of the videos by the selection committee.

El comité de selección propondrá 3 finalistas por cada categoría* e invitará a los cortos finalistas al festival.

The selection committee will propose 3 finalists for each category* and will invite the finalists to the festival.

*si en alguna categoría no hay un mínimo de calidad esta podría quedar desierta o con menos finalistas, igualmente, si se da la circunstancia de que hay más de 3 trabajos que merecen ser finalistas también será posible

*if in any category there is not a minimum of quality it could be deserted or with less finalists, equally, if there are more than 3 works that deserve to be finalists it will also be possible.

El fallo de los finalistas se hará público durante el mes previo al festival, celebrándose la entrega de premios el 29 de abril (sábado) de 2023 en el Auditorio de Cilleros durante la Gala final de entrega de premios en la que se conocerán los ganadores finales de cada categoría.

The decision of the finalists will be made public during the month prior to the festival, and the awards ceremony will be held on 29 April (Saturday) 2023 in the Auditorium of Cilleros during the final Awards Gala where the final winners of each category will be announced.

Si la fecha de entrega de premios sufre variaciones se anunciará con la suficiente anterioridad.

If the date of the awards ceremony changes, it will be announced well in advance.
